"After Lyco Works asked just a few incisive technical questions, it became clear that we needed to rethink where the technology could be utilized.”

Lyco Works Selected as Innovation Services Provider for Business Growth Alliance

August 1st, 2015

Business Growth Alliance LLC2015 has transformed into a year of growth, knowledge and honors. This spring, Lyco Works was invited to join the Business Growth Alliance, LLC (BGA) as an innovation service specialist. This prestigious organization was established in 2004 by Headwaters SC and de Visscher & Co to assist family controlled SMEs with a range of corporate development and transactional support services.

“Some companies engage Lyco Works to help them strengthen their IP position using design-around to create a patent picket fence, while others engage us to help develop new products and services.” – Jason Lye Ph.D

The ultimate vision of our affiliation with BGA is perfectly quoted by James Bly, President of BGA and CEO of Headwaters SC:

“Private Middle Market and Family-Owned companies are vitally important to the economy as well as the business and cultural landscapes of our great nation. BGA assists its clients to remain rooted in their communities and to be competitive, not just in the United States, but throughout the world.”

Lyco Works is proud to offer BGA affiliates decades of collaborative experience in the fields of Technology Transfer, Innovation, IP management, and Technical problem solving through innovative and evolutionary patented technology sourcing process. Our solutions and BGA affiliation can help you gain market control and establishing productive partnerships.

The reality faced by smaller companies is their inability to afford a full-time PhD Scientist CTO with over a decade of deal-making and business development experience. However, Lyco Works can be engaged to run projects, solve problems and set effective strategies.

What is an “IP Strategy” anyway?

2nd Annual IP Think Tank hosted by GSU College of Law

An IP strategy is a plan, specific to your business that enables the maximum market value to be derived from your products.  If crafted judiciously, a well informed IP strategy can not only help mitigate risks and avoid costs, but can allow an enterprise to thrive for generations.

Drying at the Speed of Sound

Digital Printing

In acoustic drying news, we previously mentioned that Jason has been serving as Chief Technical Officer to Heat Technologies Inc. for about six months.  Using HTI’s acoustically enhanced thermal and mass transfer technology, we continue to help manufacturing customers dry webs faster, cooler, in a tiny footprint, using a fraction of the energy.  80 units are now in commercial production, and that number is increasing – especially in Europe where energy is so much more expensive.

Be sure to contact us when you need more throughput, lower energy consumption, and shorter web path.  2014 is already off to a great start with three nice pieces of news:

Chemistry Conference in Atlanta

June 24th, 2013

I do enjoy a bit of marketing every now and then!  Lyco Works is proud to be working as publicity chair for the South East Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society (SERMACS2013), as well as Secretary of the conference planning committee.  It’s going to be a good conference as we are expecting at least 2,500 attendees.  Abstracts for presentations are already flowing in through the website portal, consistent with the conference theme of “Building Chemical Bonds – Academia – Industry – Government”   Included in the program is a chemical patent workshop – which comes at an interesting time as the US switched from a First-to-Invent to a First-to-File system earlier this year.

Attached is the call for papers that we recently drafted and published in the Chemical and Engineering News, containing program, venue and other details.
